Research has found that schoolchildren who eat breakfast are twice as likely to perform above average at school than those who do not. We have noticed that it is really important to have a healthy breakfast every day and 3rd Year Primary pupils have prepared delicious meals to be shown in the class.

Most of them have chosen fruit, cupcakes and cereal or toast with jam, others have had snacks like nuts or muesli. To drink, they have preferred milk with cocoa and orange juice. Some pupils confessed that they hadn’t had a healthy breakfast during “Fallas” since they ate churros with chocolate.

We have learnt that breakfast foods are good sources of important nutrients such as calcium, iron and  B vitamins as well as protein and fibre.

We give you some advice: enjoy your breakfast but be careful with the calories!
